New 2.5" RISC Platforms Offer Power/Size Performance

Advantech is now offering two new 2.5" RISC platforms that help customers target low power/space critical applications better. These platforms expand Advantech's existing 3.5" RISC platform products, offering customers more power and expansion flexibility on a super small footprint. Although a small form factor, these platforms offer a fairly complete list of functions and features, based on the Intel Xscale (PCM-7220) and Samsung ARM9 (PCM-7320) processors respectively.

When additional functionality is needed, Advantech supplies our AMI-120 module product line. The AMI-120 expansion interface provides our two new RISC platforms with fast and easy modular function expansion, with off-the-shelf or customized (by Advantech, customer or third party) modules available. The AMI-120 allows customers to better match RISC vertical market application needs.

Also, with RISC platforms being applied to a wider range of applications that operate in harsh and more demanding conditions, Advantech offers our Phoenix Operation extended temperature product testing to ensure customers get the most reliable platforms for their application needs. (read more..)

Advantech's PCM-7320 Samsung ARM9 S3C2410 SOC RISC platform is a complete 32-bit, 200 MHz System On Chip Solution, which offers rich I/O interfaces and high performance, with functions like USB, 10/100 LAN, CF, 8 x 8 matrix keypad / hot keys and 4-COMs, and a LCD interface.(more..)

The AMI-120 interface is just like a PC/104 interface to an x86 platform in concept, but proprietary for Advantech ARM architecture. Defined by Advantech, the AMI-120 bus interface is intended to provide a unified interface to expand the functionality of an existing ARM base platform in a dependable, easy, low cost and fast way.
