Advantech's
new WEB-2000 is an all-in-one RISC StrongARM® processor-based
controller that brings you traditional x86-like I/O ports yet
without the high power comsumption. The WEB-2000's total power
consumption is below 5 W, a full quarter that of a standard x86
system. This allows the WEB-2000 to operate up to 70° C (158°
F). In addition to its impressive hardware, Advantech's software
dependibility is derived from the MS WinCE 3.0 operating system,
which allows us to customize this device for customer needs and
allows our customers to immediately execute their applications.
Applications
The WEB-2000
is primarly for medical appliances, serving as a controller in
hospital environments. Additional applications make it ideal as
industrial controllers, security systems, home/building automation,
factory automation, laboratory instrumentation, and more, especially
in harsh environments such as high temperature settings. At Advantech,
we realized the need for a powerful web controller with a low
power consumption and rugged design. Therefore, we designed RISC-based
technology for portable devices which can withstand great heat
while using less battery energy and at less cost.
Product
The WEB-2000
comes equipped with 16 MB SDRAM, a 10 Base-T Ethernet interface,
two DB-9 RS-232 ports and one RS-485 serial port. There are six
digital input and six high drive digital output ports, VGA out
and a 24 VDC Phoenix power input.
The WEB-2000
will be released for mass shipping on May 15th, 2001.
