Advantech Adds more ARM-based Solutions to Our Product Line

Advantech's RISC solution development continues to expand, driven by demands in the embedded application market for platforms with more efficient power usage, more compact sizes, better reliability as well as continued cost savings to support the newest embedded applications.

Customers also need better and faster RISC project support, allowing them to meet both their time-to-market objectives for state of the art applications as well as their overall business considerations.

New 2.5" PCM-7220 and PCM-7320 RISC Platforms

Advantech's latest offerings include two application ready platforms 2.5" (APR) that perfectly complement our existing 3.5" platforms and a series of Arm Module Interface (AMI) modules that speed up development time through modularized function expansion.

The PCM-7220 is a high performance 2.5" Biscuit SBC with Intel’s RISC Xscale PXA-255 processor and Windows CE.NET or Embedded Linux on a 78 x 104 mm (3” x 4”) compact form factor. The PCM-7320 platform is a more cost effective application ready board level solution integrating Samsung's ARM9 S3C2410 SOC (System On Chip) on a 78 x 104 mm (3” x 4”) compact form factor.

Both platforms are designed to offer customers a fast time to market and flexible reference platform that is fully customizable. All functionality has been fully certified and can be leveraged for customized needs for different hardware configurations and system optimization based on the customer’s request. AMI-120 Interface System Expansion by Module

Through the powerful expansion interface of the AMI-120 (ARM Module Interface), the AMI interface on the PCM-7320 and PCM-7220 acts like a PC/104 socket to x86 platforms. This allows easy module attachment in a very reliable and low profile configuration, quickly and easily adding functions to the platform. These AMI modules are also open to customization as well, allowing customers to put one or more functions on modules. This gives integrators the platforms with the functionality that meets their vertical market application needs, all in a fast, customized solution.
