French company, Acrelec, is integrating Advantech's PCM-5864 into
their advertising multimedia system: the Select 3000. The Select
3000 is a very attractively designed kiosk dedicated to promote
CD, DVD, and Video Games in a mulimedia shop. The user presents
a product bar code, previously digitized in the data base, or
navigates to a selected choice. In each case, the customer sees
jacket products, watches DVD trailers and video games demos, and
listens to CD excerpts.

The Select
3000 is monitored by the highly integrated multimedia PCM-5864
SBC, which combines a 32-bit audio controller, video input/output
and PCI 10/100Base-T Ethernet interface. It supports a 12'' TFT
display with an anti-damage touch screen, bar code reader, DVD
reader, modem, two speakers and two headphones.
