POS Products Adopt PC99 Color

POS products will soon have a colorful new look, as PC99 connectors are slated to go into production on the entire POS line. PC99 is a standard that, among other things, helps users distinguish external I/O connectors by color. Different connectors have different colors, so it's easy to see at a glance what any particular connector may be for. Also, the new, colorful connectors give a more current design feel to the equipment.   And, not incidentally, they are cost effective. Since these colored connectors are produced by the container load for consumption by major motherboard manufacturers, economies of scale come into play that work to Advantech's advantage, and of course, to the advantage of its customers as well. The upgrade to PC99 will have no effect on dimensions or functionality, and will not affect part or revision numbers.
