The four Ethernet ports on the POD-6704 enable designers to create a broad range of applications including network security systems, firewalls, intrusion detection systems, etc. And onboard RJ-45 connectors make for crystal-clear signals. The POD-6704 features Pentium III support up to a blazing 1.26 GHz, to handle the most demanding processing requirements, and the high bandwidth communications technology in the Intel® 815E chipset makes it ideal for larger texture 3D images and advanced applications. Additionally, the 815E architecture, with FSB up to 133MHz, features direct pipelines for audio and video data. This allows a richer experience for the user through high quality sound and DVD-quality video.

With a selection of Ethernet controllers and optional miniPCI expansion, the POD-6704 offers a high degree of flexibility, resulting in great system performance over a wide range of configurations and price points. A selection  of three different LAN controllers are available. It is easy to swap in more processing power and memory size without redesigning the I/O
circuitry, thus preserving investment in high-speed I/O. The POD-6704 supports all the latest platform features, with a stable and reliable driver set that is designed to support both current and emerging applications.
