Advantech is launching the Security Gateway series, a new product line under its Embedded Computing Group, to provide a range of selections in Firewall/VPN/IDS hardware platforms--from enterprise, to SME, to SOHO models. Aiming to provide fast time-to-market and customizable products, Advantech is dedicated to researching and developing network security hardware and application platforms so that network security system integrators and software vendors have all the choices they need to integrate their security applications into flexible, reliable turnkey solutions.

Advantech's new Security Gateway series includes the following models:

SG-3103
The SG-3103 Security Gateway is a 1U rackmount Firewall/VPN/IDS platform suitable for enterprise users. The platform provides one CompactFlash to store OS and AP, and an optional IDE HDD allows for direct local storage of event logs. The system provides 3 fast Ethernet ports for LAN, WAN, and DMZ. In addition, it also provides an RS-232 port for local management, diagnostics, and maintenance. The seven LED indicators on the front panel show power status, and the conditons of the three LANs.

SG-4104
The SG-4104 Security Gateway is a Firewall/VPN/IDS platform suitable for enterprise users. The platform provides one CompactFlash to store OS and AP, and an optional IDE HDD allows for direct local storage of event logs. The system provides 4 fast Ethernet ports for LAN, WAN, DMZ, and management ports. It also provides 2 RS-232 ports for local management, maintenance, and diagnostics. There are eight LED indicators on the front panel to show the status of power, and the 4 LANs.

SG-2103
The SG-2103 is a Firewall/VPN/IDS platform suitable for a SME security gateway. The platform provides one CompactFlash to store OS and AP, and an optional IDE HDD allows for direct local storage of event logs. The system provides 3 fast Ethernet ports for Network security solutions. It also provides an RS-232 port and a PS2 port for local management, maintenance, and diagnostics. 

SG-1003/1103
A compact fan-less Security Gateway, the SG-1103 is specifically designed for Internet secure connectivity and is suitable for the SOHO Firewall/VPN. Designed with the SiS550 200 MHz processor, its low power consumption can meets the requirements needed for SOHO Firewall/VPN appliances. The system supports a CompactFlash used in installing OS and Firewall/VPN application, which totally avoids the service disruption caused by hard disk's mechanical/magnetic failures. In addition, the SG-1103 can support system memory up to 512 MB SDRAM. The SG-1103 offers three 10/100 Mbps auto-sensing Fast Ethernet ports for WAN, LAN, and DMZ connections. It also offers a COM port for local system management, maintenance, and diagnostics.
