Taipei, Taiwan
– For some time, the computer industry has been embracing reduced
instruction set computer (RISC) designs, which cut out many
performance-reducing instructions built into microprocessors.
Processing of data is done in elementary steps, repetitively and
at faster speeds.
Advantech
has been undertaking the de-velopment
of RISC-based computing solutions for years and those products
have been deployed in various vertical market applications that
stress low pow-er
and high perfor-mance
on a cost effective platform for tough environments or dedicated
applications. To committee the business development in RISC-based
computing solutions, the current HMI team will redirect it’s focus
to RISC-based products and be renamed RISC Computing Solution
Division (RCS) under the Core Platform Organization (CPO). Joe
Cheng, who successfully led the MobiPanel to the market before he
joined the RCS division, will lead the product and business
management team.
This business unit will leverage the core technology of the Intel
StrongARM SOC processor and Embedded WinCE Software and continue
to develop
innovative
solutions that meet our customers’ needs. The business and service
scope will range from SOM, Board level, System level and Design to
Order Service (DTOS). The focus of the RISC Computing Solution
Division is to strengthen the development of RISC-based products
and expand the scope of our eplatform partner territory.
Should you have any questions about RCS product and business,
