PCD-100A CompactFlash
Card Provides Great IDE Solid-state Storage for Embedded Systems
Advantech's
new PCD-100A series of CompactFlash cards has replaced the
phased-out PCD-100 series previously offered. The PCD-100A series
represents a logical progression in the CompactFlash product
market, mainly centered around increased memory capacities and
a wider range of application uses. Advantech products reflect
the latest advances in a variety of embedded and SBC technology,
all of which cater to the needs of our customers.
Small and Rugged IDE Hard Disk Drive
The PCD-100A CompactFlash series can be used just like an
IDE hard drive. No software driver is needed which greatly simplifies
system integration and flexibility. Memory size goes from 4 MB
all the way up to 128 MB, offering increased memory capacity while
providing a greater range of memory choices. And of course, these
solid-state devices can operate in environments that would destroy
conventional HDDs. Some Advantech SBCs with onboard IDE interface
CompactFlash sockets are the PCM-3345, PCM-3346F, PCM-5820 as
well as the PCA-6751 to name a few.
Making it Easy
Let
us remind everyone that the PCM-3835 IDE Flash disk module is
a perfect way to integrate solid-state CompactFlash technology
into existing systems. With this board, CPU boards that do not
have an onboard CompactFlash socket, such as the PCM-5862E, can
use this neat PC/104 module to add a storage device. It is a simple
but effective solution, and as CompactFlash memory capacity increases,
we are finding more customers taking advantage of this option.
