Advantech's new PCA-6753F is a full-featured half-size ISA bus SBC that offers 586 performance, fan-less operation and low power usage in a cost-saving solution. The PCA-6753F allows 486-based systems to be easily upgraded to 586-level because a NS GXM 200 MHz processor is mounted directly on board. Mounting CPUs directly on board eases the configuration process because there is no need to set jumpers for speed or voltage differences between CPUs. It also allows system integrators to keep their previous hardware investments and expand their software capabilities by offering a MMX^TM- enabled processor. Since the PCA-6753F's NS GXM 200 MHz low-power processor can work well in temperatures up to 60° C (140° F) without need of a fan, embedded application possibilities are greatly increased while MTBF concerns are reduced. Other on-board features include a VGA/LCD controller for simultaneous support for CRT/18-bit LCD TFT displays and a 10/100 Mbps PCI Ethernet interface. The PCA-6753F also includes a "face-up" PC/104 connector, SSD support for DOC^® 2000, 1 x SDRAM socket for up to 128 MB system memory, 62-level Watchdog timer, 4 Mbit Flash BIOS that supports Plug & Play and is APM 1.2 compliant and supports Wake-up on LAN, Modem. There is also one Enhanced IDE interface that supports 2 IDE devices (UDMA33), one EPP/ECP parallel port, 2 serial ports and a PS/2 keyboard/mouse connector.
