MBPC-300 MicroBox Series Adds Two New Powerful SBC Options

Advantech's MBPC-300 Series 5.25" Biscuit PC chassis and power supply support two new SBCs that add increased power, offer more features and provide greater flexibility to this PC chassis line. The PCM-9570 and PCM-5864/L SBCs help round-out this chassis line and give all-in-one solutions that Advantech customers need. The MBPC-300 has always been an ideal case for system integrators implementing applications that include Wallmount PC controllers, Embedded PC controllers, unattended controllers or compact industrial PCs.

Celeron^TMand Pentium^® III Support

The PCM-9570 uses Socket 370 in its design. Compared to slot 1, it is able to preserve vertical space above the board for PCI or other expansion cards. The Intel 440BX chipset can accommodate either a 66 MHz or 100 MHz Front Side Bus (FSB). This makes the board especially easy to upgrade, offering system integrators a wide array of Intel^® Pentium III and Celeron^TM processors to choose from. The PCM-9570 also has 10/100Base-T Ethernet for high-speed network connectivity, an on-board CompactFlash^TM SSD that provides up to 128 MB of flash memory and two sockets for SODIMM RAM memory.

Audio, Video-in and TV-out

The PCM-5864 is a highly integrated Pentium^® processor based SBC that combines audio, video-in and TV-out, and network functions on a SBC. It provides 32-bit full-duplex integrated 3D surround audio which complies with the AC97 standard, video capture that supports RCA connectors and S-video connectors via optional cable kit and video-out function which supports NTSC and PAL formats. The PCM-5864 also features 10/100Base-T Ethernet and supports 36-bit XGA LCD panels. The C&T69000 LCD controller includes standard 2 MB of memory. Support for a 18-bit LVDS interface is also provided, this allows for better long distance panel support with good EMI safeguards.

These two new boards give the MBPC-300 series powerful new options that represent the latest features system integrators need. Whether its the PCM-9570 with its upgrade flexibilty and Socket 370 design, or the PCM-5864 with its multimedia capabilities that can handle today's most intensive industrial or embedded graphic and data applications, both offer strong features.
