PCA-6751 Series Offers New Ethernet Controllers

Advantech's PCA-6751 Rev B gives new Ethernet performance options to the PCA-6751 Series SBCs.The PCA-6751-F0B1 and PCA-6751-F1B1 each employ Ethernet controllers that offer different attractive features that our customers can take advantage of.

Cost Saving Performance Increase

The PCA-6751-F0B1 is a half-size Pentium^® CPU card with 266 MHz CPU, VGA, LCD, SSD and RTL8139B Ethernet. The Realtek RTL8139 Ethernet controller is a highly integrated, cost-effective, single-chip 32-bit controller. It has been widely used on other Advantech SBCs (as well as by other manufacturers) and is a proven, high-performance on-board Ethernet controller. The RTL 8139B is one of the industry's most economical solutions that provides 100Base-T performance, built-in power management and full driver support and security, all in one package.

Supercharged Ethernet Controller

The PCA-6751-F1B1 SBC is identical to the PCA-6751-F0B1, except that it offers the impressive Intelfont^® 82559 Ethernet controller instead of the RTL8139B or Intelfont ^® 82558 (used in Rev A). The Intel^®82559 controller is a true next-generation product.It is the industry's first fully-integrated fast ethernet cross-platform solution that is faster, smaller and more simple to use than all its predecessors and competitors. It provides integrated next-generation Alert on LAN management capabilities. It also gives a significant decrease in power consumption while providing faster network capability. The Intel^®82559 controller simplifies network management by allowing developers to use the same software drivers across all platforms. The Intel 82559's Driver is also compatible with the Intel 82558, and both are Microsoft Certified and offer Intel EMD support. Intel EMD products typically have a life cycle of 5 years. This long term support is especially important to our customers.There are many other features that are attractive for industrial and embedded applications.All these benefits result in easier network management and reduced complexity for end users.
